Before & After – Story of a transformation

Tired Paddington terrace gets a more than a facelift

The owners of this old terrace weren’t sure whether they could redeem their beautiful old home – nor if they had the spirit to see it through.

Narrow, but still with generously proportioned bedrooms, the house still had the original and incredibly steep staircase from 1892 (more appropriate to a mountain goat than human legs).

Thanks to a complete internal renovation, some re-defining of the structural spaces, and a bespoke staircase providing a much more comfortably climb, what was once an historic if battered family home, is now a modern and calming city refuge.
